I think this is a great idea for a tribe.
No one has anything to share? What about links or maybe books you might own?
I used to get a catalog from a place in Rochester Hills Michigan called Middle Earth Book Shop, (not related to the movie at all, You know LOTR) They listed some really interesting books out of print and antique metaphysical books. I have not gotten a catalog from them in years and I looked them up on google and other search engines but found nothing. Maybe they are out of buisness. Too bad.

Re: Hello?
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 9:56 AMWhen I was pre-teen-age...I acquired a Collector's Edition of Frank L. Baum's series about the Land of Oz...these are the titles I remember:
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz; The Marvelous Land of Oz; Ozma of Oz; Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz; The Road to Oz; The Emerald City of Oz; The Patchwork Girl of Oz; The Little Wizard Series; and Tik-Tok of Oz...(I think there may have been 3 or 4 more)
one of my sister's ended up with these books...I wish I would have kept them. They were very special!
These were written for children...however as an adult with NO children...I still remember those stories as some of the MOST charming and magically creative I've ever read.
I would have to say that Baum was creating some of the very first science fiction stories when he wrote these books.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Some day I hope to find the whole set and keep them prominently displayed on a bookshelf.
PEACE.Out

Re: Hello?
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 7:39 PMThose books definitely sound like keepers. I love books too much. I just have them everywhere. Especially old or unusual books. Most of the books in my collection are spiritual/metaphysical or science books.
If anyone knows of a good site that you can search for obscure or out of print titles can you steer the rest of us to it? If I run across one I'll do the same. :-)

Sun, August 14, 2005 - 6:51 PMHi!
Just found your remark with the Middle Earth Book Shop.
Maybe it is this one:

By the way, I am new here. Hi to all!

Re: Hello?
Sun, August 21, 2005 - 9:10 AMHI I am new here and have thousands of books, many rare and old and want to trade a bunch for one or two special ones I am seeking. Grapes of Gladness by Marshal Hartcraft (sp?) is one I want. I have hundreds of old first editions but don't know where to sell them. I had a Pearl Buck Good Earth First Edition in great shape w/jacket and put it on Ebay and couldnt get a starting bid of $1.99, so I gave it to a friend. Where in the SF Bay can I go to sell books? Trade?
